Who we serve, services and unconventional offerings

Posted by on February 3, 2011

My main service that I offer is being a personal chef. However that is definitely not all I do. I get asked a lot “what exactly do you do and who is this for?”. For my first post, I thought I would give you a little primer before you explore more of the site.

Who these services are for:

  • People who want home cooked meals that don’t have time to prepare them.
  • People who enjoy nutrition, healthy foods as well as gourmet flavors.
  • People with special dietary needs such a gluten intolerance, vegans or other specific dietary plans.
  • Athletes in training looking to support their training through nutrition.
  • People who are looking for meals to help facilitate weight loss or maintenance.
  • Foodies who love to explore different foods, flavors and cuisines.
  • Busy parents who want their kids to eat home cooked healthy meals.
  • Kitchen novices wanting to improve their skills (check out unconventional offerings)
Basic personal services:
As a personal chef, I come to your home and prepare meals specifically tailored to your needs, wants and nutritional profile. I prepare 3-7 meals for you (and your family) plus breakfasts and package them for you to enjoy all week long. I buy the groceries and prepare all the food at your home, cleaning up and filling your fridge with delicious and nutritious foods. In the future, as the business expands I hope to be able to operate out of a commercial kitchen and do all meal services as a delivery.

Unconventional services:

  • Culinary Consults and Individual Instruction: Love to cook but want to better your skills or learn new tricks? Want to gain new confidence in the kitchen. Culinary consults and individual instruction provides one-on-one (or two) mentoring in the kitchen and hands-on training.
  • Gluten Free Consults: As a gluten intolerant chef and baker, I have learned how to navigate the world of being gluten free. Whether you are recently diagnosed or simply want to learn how to bake better gluten free, I am available to walk you through the basics. I would love to teach you how to work with gluten free flours and gluten free baking.
  • Culinary Coaching: Have the time and energy to cook for yourself and your family but don’t know where to start? Want to develop your skills as a cook through guided practice. I offer culinary coaching on a monthly basis. I send you a week’s meal plan with recipes and complete shopping list as well as helpful tips on how to improve your kitchen skills. For San Francisco clients, this can be integrated with individual instruction.
  • Private Chef for dinner parties, cocktail parties and small events: Works in your kitchen to provide a menu according to your desired needs, fresh prepared for the event while the event is happening.
  • Catering for medium and large events
  • Culinary Parties and Instruction: The chef will provide instruction and participation on how to create a dish or menu in your home for groups up to 15. These parties are a great way to provide your guests with an interactive experience in the kitchen, learn new cooking, nutrition skills and enjoy a delicious meal under the tutelage of a trained chef. Private instruction available upon request.
  • Fast Foodie’s Famous muffin mixes and granola: I make gluten free muffin mixes and (coming soon) gluten free granolas. A great way to have home baked gluten free goodness fresh in your home.

Unfortunately I live in Corpus Christi, Tx. We don’t have anything like what you are providing for people interested in eating healthy. :( I was hoping to find some ideas for smoothies using the “Kombucha Multie-green tea”. I am new at Tweeting. Anyways, if you can share some ideas with me I would really appreciate it.
    Thanks!
